Systinet Corp., Cambridge, Mass., has released a new version of its Java-based infrastructure platform for developing Web services applications.

WASP Server for Java 4.7 includes upgraded support for data integration using XML Schema, including a number of industry-specific XML Schema such as Financial products Markup Language (FpML) and Open Financial Exchange (OFX).

Systinet said that the new version of WASP also offers new features designed for enterprise deployments, including the ability to integrate more closely with the existing security infrastructure of supported J2EE-based application servers. Supported platforms include BEA System's WebLogic, IBM's WebSphere, and Sun Microsystems' Sun ONE Application Server, among others. Systinet said that WASP can share security identity definitions with the J2EE app servers, so that the same identities are used for access control with both J2EE components and Web services.
